LONGMONT — Supporters of Longmont Ballot Question 2A say allowing city police and fire employees to form a union will give public safety personnel a formal voice in their working conditions.
But opponents claim a union is unnecessary and will lock Longmont into labor contracts that could cripple the city in tough financial times.
Both sides made cases for and against the issue during the Times-Call election forum Wednesday night."
