LAKELAND | City leaders say Wednesday's vote of no confidence in Lakeland Police Chief Roger Boatner by union police officers doesn't matter - they have plenty of confidence in the city's top law enforcement officer.
About 95 percent of the voting Police Benevolent Association members said they are unhappy with Boatner, who did not defend officers when City Manager Doug Thomas eliminated an additional 1.5 percent 'me too' cost-of-living raise two weeks ago.
